NPC Western Regional's

Hope — it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength and your greatest weakness.
Almost one year ago I was shopping for my bathing suit for my Miss Arizona competition. I went to beach bunny. It was the first time I had ever been there and I was a bit overwhelmed by all the beautiful suites. I tried a couple on and felt they were a bit too revealing for what I was doing and the competition I was running for (that must have been my conservative side speaking haha).  As I was finishing changing a girl walked in and was picking up her suit for a fitness competition that was being held locally. She was very lean and muscular. As I overheard her talking to the sales lady she had just a couple days until her big day! She was super tan and ready to rock in her bikini from beach bunny in its sexy fashion. In my head, I will never forget what I was thinking. Mitch are you ready for this … I told myself I could never imagine doing a fitness competition and never in a million years looking as lean and solid as she did. In fact I knew it wasn’t possible for me to look the way she did just given my body structure and in all honesty I could never imagine wearing such a revealing suit.

Here I am in the moment presently writing an experience I would have never imagined I would do. I just completed my very first NPC fitness bikini class competition as a representation of UGG. Mitch this is to you. I am inspired by people everyday-most importantly endeavors’ I thought in a million years I would never consider let alone directly being a participant of. Here are a few: As a marathon runner, a contestant for Miss Arizona, a community advocate, a volunteer, a graduate at ASU, a client of a personal trainer, and a competitor for a bikini competition. These major accomplishments in my life have transformed me, conformed me, and piece by piece become an enormous part of the growth and personal developed of who I am today. Let me highly emphasize not one of these endeavors would I not only believe I would do but exude so much passion for.

My experience throughout this journey with you has been amazing. I am so proud of myself.  Those 5 minutes on stage were all worth the journey of our 16 weeks of training and pushing myself beyond what I even knew I was capable of. I love to be on stage. What I love most about being on stage is the challenge you have to capture the attention of so many people not only in the audience but your critics. Stage presence only comes within a person. My goal was to portray a positive representation to you UGG and set an example to existing and future clientele that are intrigued to do a journey as ambitious and competitive as this competition. I know you are so proud of me and I am so proud of myself. My body has truly transformed in ways I never knew existed. I have acquired a different outlook and appreciation for the human body and eye for true athleticism and image. What you see is most defiantly what you work for! And in my eyes that is more rewarding than anything. There is no shortcut worth any place going in my eyes. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I felt healthy, high energy, and confident in all of your judgments and meal plans you prepared for me. I cant thank you enough. Standing there on stage I never felt better about myself. I felt like the sun!

My goal for myself jumping into this journey was to further my education, experience the backstage arena of fitness competitors, challenge myself, and inspire someone just like myself to be fearless and do things you would never dream of doing. You couldn’t put a price on the feeling I received being on that stage. I will always stay true to who I am. My presence on stage will never be forgotten even if it means not winning because to me its not winning that is most important it is not being forgotten and more importantly not forgetting who you are. The process to me is the most fulfilling part to me aside from those moments you have on stage. Those moments are few and far too quick.

See you on stage :)

Fuel your passion

My favorite things about love...Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It is not easily angered. Love endures. Love never fails.

Create your life and your world around passion and you will exude compassion. A bubble will begin to surround you and everyone that knows you and even those that you encounter for the first time will cling to you. They will listen to you, they will find you interesting, and you will begin to inspire one individual after another in some way. Your passion will be so strong children, women and men of all ages will hope to be like you. No matter how often you begin to here how inspiring you are or those that tell you what direction you should take based on your passions you won't realize it until something happens. This something is huge and it has never happened to me before until recently...so as I  continue my journey in life I met someone that exudes the love of passion as much as I do. You will wonder why so much energy and connection presents itself. You will learn from that person's passion and begin to have passion for them.  I believe passion for a person is rare. It is not often found and it's not something that can be acquired if it was never there to begin with. If you do all things in life with passion there is no reason why you can't become passionately in love.

A passionate person is more breathtaking than a person that goes through the motions in life. When I think about passion I can't even describe it in words because it's a feeling that I only get about certain things that I cannot live without. I compare passion and love together because they are the only two words I can't describe the meaning of because they are only shown by your eyes, your voice, your expressions, your dedication, and your energy.  What are your passions? Have you ever been passionate about the success and happiness of someone else?

Happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

It's amazing how a compliment can go so far. Compliments should be given out more freely among the people you encounter. They truly make a difference and can make someone's day more than you may ever know! It is so amazing how gestures and thoughtfulness goes so far. At least for me it goes above and beyond anything monetarily. I'll never forget this day about 2 years ago...I was running around my neighbourhood and this woman was walking her dog. She stopped me and said " I want to look JUST like you".That compliment has never left me. It wasn't because I wanted to hear that or needed to hear that it was the matter of fact that one person thought that way about me. So many thoughts ran through my head as I stood there thinking how hard I always am on myself -work my body so hard for what? to look like everyone else? No, yes, maybe. But that's not me...and thinking I see myself as a working progress while another person idolizes who I am. That compliment reminded me to be thankful for what I have and what makes me who I am. It made me want to be more appreciate of myself. And most importantly ever since that day more than ever I am free of judgement and cling to those who are just like you and I.

Always stay true to who you are and never change those little things that make you who you are. Most importantly strive not to be perfect or what you think is perfect. Find that person that see's those things that differentiates you and loves those things about you. Guess what...It's out there. And I know.. and I am experiencing it right now. I can tell you my insecurities are the things that no one else has. I have a funny hairline, I have a dimple below my eye, I am athletically built  curvy and spicy, I exude confidence that I don't even know, I pour passion that I don't even realize. I have only been waiting to find that person that loves those things about me. Because..deep down inside those are things that I love about myself and makes me, me. If you find someone who see's those as your best attributes they see you for you and nobody else.

Everyone has a story. What is yours?

In life half the battle has to do with the lens you choose to see yourself through. My fulfilment comes from seeing myself through a positive lens.
Be strong, have depth, set  goals and don't just settle. Look for someone who respects your strength of character and is seen as equal- share all of life's special moments with. Trust, Honesty, and Happiness to me are the key to success. Portray those. Live by your words you choose for yourself. Life is precious. Each day is a gift. Try and achieve a limited amount of time being mad , stressed or upset. Address it, fix it, and move on. For every extended time you are feeling upset you could be cherishing natures precious gifts. The air we breathe, the support we attain, and the hot sun shining on our faces.

My goal is to be that person that you think of every day, that person that brings happy positive energy your way and the one thing in your life that you don't tie "stressful" too. Get to know that special person, achieve a level of understanding and decide if it is a right fit for you . In the end, you will have a best friend. A person that understands you and most importantly a person you will learn from, see's the best in you, and challenges you . Each and every day will be exciting as the first time you met. Above all you found exactly what you were looking for.

That person is out there for each and every person. I would love to know how you found your significant other, or your spouse? Every person has a story and with every story carries a piece of wisdom. Live it, learn it, and attain it!

She closes her eyes and smiles

Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.
I have a passion for life, fitness, and living life to the fullest. I bring a genuine, friendly and positive attitude in my endeavours. I enjoy raising the awareness of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle to reduce the effects of chronic diseases associated with diet and weight. I enjoy inspiring children with disabilities, event planning and participating in local community events and organizations. I am an athlete. I can't live without sports and aerobic activities- running, swimming, spinning, and practicing yoga to integrate flexibility and spirituality into my habitual avocation. I enjoy building relationships and giving feedback to business owners on how they can better there business or create new and innovative ways to draw attraction to there business.

I am passionate about goal setting, standardization, training, and being successful personally and professionally. I am career driven. I am passionate about philanthropy and giving back to the community. I have the drive to leave a legacy of making a difference in the lives of others.  I am motivated by my ability to be a great friend, be idolized as a role model and impacting each and every person I cross paths with in some way. Being well rounded and balanced are important to me and I encourage and exude those around me to do the same.

Openness, dedication, ambition and positive energy are my strongest traits I possess. I am able to communicate honestly, and easily with anyone. In doing so, I am able to capture my thoughts verbally and in writing very well. I am goal oriented. I truly believe that if you set goals for yourself and continue to work toward and re-evaluate them over time, you will set yourself up for success through commitment, confidence, and perseverance.

What are you passionate about? Think about it, write it down, and if you ever forget you have it here to remind yourself each and everyday what you truly love and what makes that curve on your face smile!

What can't YOU live without?

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.  ~Robert Brault
I can't live without positive energy. I continue to find myself absorbed with such wonderful sources of beaming individuals. I feed off of positive thoughts, ideas, advice, and support.

Old habits, mean remarks, jealously, unethical acts are EASY to fall into but who said the easy way was the right way. Sometimes making things right might hinder your pride, might make you want to give up, and might make you want to revert to old ways but you have to start somewhere. And I believe that place is thinking positive with every situation no matter what. I truly believe each person has certain moments and times in there life we haven't planned for ourselves or envisioned. However every step moving forward we are given a chance, a challenge, a hope, a wish to make something right or better or different. Embrace something you never had and most importantly find that WORD that  you can't live without. I have made it a priority to surround myself with what I am seeking in life and help uncover the challenges I face.

Nothing is negative if you find 1 thing positive. I am most appreciative to those who can see each struggle, each unfortunate situation, each heartbreak for what it's worth and make something positive out of it. The only thing that you can control is your energy. If you don't know what to do just be positive and know that something didn't go your way for a reason, a good reason. I can't wait to know what that good reason is. Because for everything that was unfortunate and didn't go my way blessed me with something indescribable.

Ones struggle may be your strength. Open your heart, breath free of judgment, and find one positive attribute in each and every person you encounter. It's amazing how your world can transform when you focus on the positive.

Music is inspiration

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us"
This song is so inspiring to me because I have felt everyone of these lyrics. Music is amazing in the way it shapes how you feel and can change your mood and behavior. Imagine life without music...I can't.....What's your favorite song?

Little Miss Down On Love
Little Miss I Give Up
Little Miss I'll Get Tough
Don't you worry 'bout me anymore

Little Miss Checkered Dress
Little Miss One Big Mess
Little Miss I'll Take Less
When I Always Give So Much More

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Yeah, sometimes you gotta lose 'til you win
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
It'll be alright again

It'll be alright again, I'm okay
It'll be alright again, I'm okay
(Okay)
It'll be alright again, I'm okay

Little Miss Do Your Best
Little Miss Never Rest
Little Miss Be My Guest
I'll Make More Anytime That It Runs Out

Little Miss You'll Go Far
Little Miss Hide Your Scars
Little Miss Who You Are
Is So Much More Than You Like To Talk About

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Yeah, sometimes you gotta lose 'til you win
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
And it'll be alright again

It'll be alright again, I'm okay
It'll be alright again, I'm okay
(Okay)
It'll be alright again, I'm okay

Oh, Lord
Oh, and you are loved
Are loved

Little Miss Brand New Start
Little Miss Do Your Part
Little Miss Big Ol' Heart Beats Wide Open
She's ready now for love

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Well, sometimes you gotta lose 'til you win
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
It'll be alright again

It'll be alright again, I'm okay
It'll be alright again, I'm okay
(Okay)
It'll be alright again, I'm okay

It'll be alright again

Wickenburg to Phoenix

The 5 Ss of sports training are:stamina, speed, strength, skill, and spirit;but the greatest of these is spirit.-Ken Doherty
My goal in signing up for the Ragner Relay Race which took place February 25-26 2011 was to build upon my teamwork skills as an athlete.

As a runner there is a lot of dedication and motivation on the runner. Being in tune with yourself mentally and physically as well as holding yourself accountable easily discourages many from even getting to the fun part, which is seeing changes in your body and the endurance you begin to build and of course...THE RUNNER'S HIGH.... I have trained 2 of my friends and written out running plans to help motivate those close in my life that are interested in building there athletic ability as a runner. The most rewarding feeling has been being idolized as a motivated and ambitious individual who people feel comfortable asking me to help them reach there ultimate goals in running races, recreationally, or try outs for the Cardinals dance team. Thank you Jamie, Jessica, Adam, Mark, Kimber, and Mallory

"Today is March 2, 2011. This morning I purchased a one month unlimited membership for work out classes at Physique 57. For the next month I am challenging myself to be more fit and healthy. In order to stay focused and work hard I am starting an accountability journal. I will be keeping track of my daily activity, the food I eat, and my personal thoughts throughout this experience. Each night I will email my entry to a few people that I know care about me and my well being. You are one of these people and I thank you for being a good friend. Advice, tips, and ideas are definitely welcome. I am fully motivated to look and feel better. A few of my goals include: working out a minimum of 4 times per week, stretching twice a day, eating smaller portions, eating less sugar, not eating red meat after lunchtime, and not eating anything after 7pm. I know change does not occur overnight, but with a positive attitude and a great support system I can do it".

As 1 of the 12 team mates a 200 mile relay race day and night was a priceless experience and an unforgettable one at that.  I successfully accomplished my goal which was to forget about everything that absorbs us in daily life and just run, have fun, and eat lots of peanut butter and chocolate. What I loved most about the Ragner Relay Race was meeting the team mates in person that were in my van. My friend Aimee invited me to do this race with her and without her I would have never dreamt to do something so out of my comfort level. Aimee has inspired me to do the bold and daring adventures that I would never do without someone planting the seed. Aimee and I can now say we have ran in 2 races together and successfully reached our goals as runners. (Mount Lemon, Ragner Relay Race) She is a truly amazing person and I have grown as a person knowing her.I can't wait what our next adventure will be TOGETHER :)

Please check out this amazing race. I will definitely be doing it next year. If anyone is interested feel free to reach out to me.

Miss Arizona Contestant 2011

"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
To all my sponsors and those that supported me with positive encouragement during my Miss Arizona Pageant:

Thank you for believing, for being present, for giving me your special encouragement that allowed me to develop myself into this wonderful, confident, glowing person that I have become. I am a person of strength of excitement and most importantly of spirituality. I am one who doesn’t want to miss a beat to that next rhythm. I carry a smile because I have conquered mind over matter. I am passionate because I only pursue a challenge. I never give up and I never hold back.

Over the last couple months I have learned a lot about myself as an individual. I have grown in so many ways that I cannot even describe. I have made memories for myself that can never be taken away because there intangible. I have learned that you can never change the face you see in the mirror. I have found that if you know where you come from you know where you are going. I come from a tight knitted family that is surrounded around morals, beliefs, and sense of identity. I chase after challenge, commitment and development.  I truly believe that your roots build the foundation of who you are and I have never been so sure of who I am. I have learned to never lose sight of the big picture and always stay grounded. I am fierce and well rounded yet humble. My biggest challenge is to be still.

There is a place and a time for everyone and I truly believe I have found a place particularly special to me. The most rewarding thing I have treasured as a contestant for Miss Arizona USA is being a coach for the Special Olympics. Putting a smile on someone’s face is the most rewarding thing I have done. Words cannot describe my thankfulness to each and every person in my life. You are dear to my heart and have made me that much more of the person I am today.

I thank you for knowing, hoping, and believing as those are the three words that I live by. You can only control the goals you set for yourself. My ultimate goal was to be idolized and be seen for the person that I am and my goal was accomplished over and beyond.

I am blessed to be given the opportunity to be a contestant for Miss Arizona. I chose how I wanted to make the experience and I wouldn't change one thing about it.  If there is one thing that I wish for anyone is to do what scares you the most and give it your all and you will never have regret. You can truly do anything that you set your mind to.

You can do it too! Check out Miss Arizona USA

There are many things in life that will catch your eye

Your energy dictates effort, your time management dictates effectiveness, goals dictate your future, education dictates your confidence, but only you can dictate your presence so make it unforgettable.
It’s not where you begin it’s where you end. Words cannot describe my thankfulness to each and every person in my life. You are dear to my heart and have made me that much more of the person I am today.

I am so excited to be present in this moment and writing my very first blog. I hope all can follow me in my journey of 2011.

There is no better way to begin this New Year with excitement, a smile, and a new chapter. My goal is to utilize this blog to allow everyone to identify, self develop, and connect together   as I begin and continue to shape my future. I have chosen to do this because I enjoy to write and I believe this vehicle is the most sufficient to tie all my connections to one place. My hopes are for every desire and goal I want for myself to be attained. I hope your ready, because I am.
